The debut of the Kentucky Landing pays homage to our great Commonwealth. We will have a variety of craft beer breweries pouring samples of their Kentucky-based creations, while local food trucks from all over the bluegrass state will be dishing out local cuisine. In addition, a select group of non-profit organizations and craft vendors will be on-hand selling their Kentucky-made goods.
The Landing will also feature an exhibit by Dare to Care, a local nonprofit agency working to feed the hungry and conquer the cycle of need. Last year, Dare to Care distributed over 13 million meals to nearly 200,000 different people in Kentucky and Indiana, and the Dare to Care Backpack Buddy weekend nutrition program provides food for students at risk of hunger over the weekend in 38 Kentuckiana elementary schools. C’mon and visit us in the Landing.
As Hunter S. Thompson once said, “Good people drink good beer.” And what better way to enjoy the summer sun than with a celebration of our own regional craft beers? There’ll be plenty to peruse as you sip responsibly on the fine offerings of both Louisville (Against the Grain, Bluegrass Brewing Company, Falls City Beer) and Lexington (Kentucky Ale and West Sixth Brewing Company) brewers. Have a swig and explore all the rest that the Landing has to offer!
The perfect accompaniment to your day of musical exploration can be found in the food truck haven the Landing will be serving up. With all of the trucks hailing from Louisville, you can be sure you’ll be getting an authentic taste of Derby City. Participating trucks include Holy Molé Taco Truck, Longshot Lobsta, Red’s Corner, and Xtreme Southern Kitchen.
Forecastle and The American Poster Institute join together to showcase the work of some of today’s most relevant poster makers, whose clients include some of Forecastle’s biggest headlining bands from past and present. Come check out the limited edition hand screen-printed posters, chat with these artists from all over the nation and pick up a poster of your own. Participating artists include Boss Construction, Nate Duval, Status Serigraph, Cricket Press, Clint Reno, Mexican Chocolate, MadPixel, Subject Matter Studios, Powerhouse Factories, James Flames, Angry Blue, Methane Studios, Furturtle Printworks, and State of Shock Studios.
The Landing will also feature a host of craft vendors who will be on-hand selling their Kentucky-made goods, including Kentucky’s only urban winery, Old 502 Winery. We’ll be releasing more craft vendors as we draw closer to the festival – stay tuned for more details!
